Software Engineer - Contract (Hybrid in Tokyo)

Who We Are

ISSHO is an early stage venture currently incubated at Moon Creative Lab. We recently received investment from Moon, backed by Mitsui & Co. We're looking to use this investment to expand our international team with passionate individuals!

At ISSHO, you will:

• Collaborate closely with the ISSHO team, including the founder and engineers, to enhance the company's market value.

• Mentor and manage junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

• Drive through making key technical decisions in the development of new functionalities on the ISSHO platform tailored to customer needs.

• Address customer issues promptly and effectively, enhancing productivity and satisfaction of the product

• Drive and execute the development of new functionalities on the ISSHO platform to meet evolving customer needs

What You’ll Do at ISSHO 

As a member of the ISSHO team, your role will be crafting and implementing new features directly impacting our customers. Your contribution at ISSHO is not just to develop features, but your insights and suggestions will shape the evolution of our product, as we continuously strive for enhancement as a team.

The Must-Haves 

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or equivalent practical experience

• 1+ years of experience in the workforce

• Demonstrated experience in a fast-growing and dynamic work environment.

• Experience programming with Javascript, or similar technologies preferred

• Ability to communicate effectively in English

The Nice-to-Haves 

• Ability to communicate in business-level Japanese

• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL

• Experience developing web applications and chat bots, as well as working with and/​or developing third-party APIs

• Demonstrated ability to deploy production-level applications

• Some knowledge of system design principles
