Tetsuya Fukuda is a Representative Director, Senior Executive Managing Officer and Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO) of Mitsui & Co. As a Moon committee member, he is responsible for determining Moon's business strategy and operational policies, as well as selecting entrepreneurs. He joined Mitsui & Co. in 1991 and was assigned to the Ferrous Raw Materials Division. Subsequently, apart from approximately three years in a corporate staff division, he has consistently worked in the mineral and metal resources field. He has been active in a wide range of areas, from underground resources to above-ground resources like recycling, battery materials, and other materials sectors. After serving as General Manager of the Coal Division in 2017, he was appointed Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Mineral & Metal Resources Business Unit in April 2021. He later served as Managing Officer, Senior Executive Managing Officer and CDIO before assuming his current position. He enjoys playing golf and visiting Ramen Jiro restaurants across Japan, and it is said that he is very close to conquering all the locations. He also loves off-road motorcycling and has participated in races across the Australian continent and across the Mexican desert in the past. He is currently inactive, but dreams of resuming his career after retirement.
