Apply Now

We are seeking a Product Assistant who’s excited to help shape the future of fashion and materials through 3D printing innovation. You’ll work closely with our design, materials, and production teams to bring new ideas to life — from early concepts to full-scale production.

This role blends creativity, technical curiosity, and organization. You’ll help manage samples, coordinate testing, source new materials, and keep projects moving smoothly. If you love experimenting, problem-solving, and making things happen in a fast-paced startup, this is for you.

What You’ll Do at Moon

  • Support the research, prototyping, and development of new 3D printed materials and textile products.
  • Stay on top of emerging design and materials trends in fashion, soft goods, and additive manufacturing.
  • Build and maintain our sample library — both physical and digital — keeping it organized and accessible.
  • Help source new suppliers, materials, and service partners.
  • Coordinate material and product testing with internal teams and external labs.
  • Keep our workflows on track: manage NDAs, purchase orders, and project tracking documents.

The Must-Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Textiles, or something equally creative and technical (or related job experience in lieu of degree).
  • Experience (3–5+ years) in materials or product development — ideally in fashion, textiles, or soft goods.
  • Hands-on familiarity with textiles, fibers, or 3D printing.
  • Proficiency in Rhino, Illustrator, or similar design tools.
  • A strong understanding (or interest) in sustainable and circular production practices.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and working collaboratively in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Curious, proactive, and resourceful — you don’t wait for instructions, you figure things out.

The Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience working with 3D printed textiles or materials.
  • Exposure to startup or R&D environments.
  • Interest in emerging tech, digital fabrication, or fashion innovation.

Travel & Physical Requirements

  • Occasional domestic or international travel (less than ~30 days/year).
  • Must be comfortable handling samples, tools, and small printing machinery.
  • Some lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and hands-on lab or studio work.

Hours: 20-32 hours/week

Pay range: $28-$40/hour (dependent on experience and matching to qualifications)

Working condition: In-office at our Palo Alto Studio

Sounds fun, right?
