Kazumasa Nakai

Mr. Nakai is a Representative Director, Senior Executive Managing Officer and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Mitsui & Co. As a Moon committee member, he is responsible for determining Moon's business strategy and operational policies, as well as selecting entrepreneurs. Within Mitsui & Co., Mr. Nakai oversees corporate staff units, including the Corporate Planning & Strategy, Investment Administrative, Corporate Communications, and Corporate Sustainability divisions. He also serves as Chairman of the Portfolio Management Committee and the Sustainability Committee. He joined Mitsui & Co. in 1987 and was assigned to the Chemical Plant Department. Although he spent most of his career thereafter focused on Project Development, he served as Assistant Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nutrition & Agriculture Business Unit in 2017. In April 2019, he was appointed Executive Officer and COO of the Infrastructure Projects Business Unit. He later served as Executive Managing Officer and Senior Executive Managing Officer before assuming his current positions. On his days off, he enjoys golf, motorcycles (though recently, unfortunately, it's mostly just admiring it), and walking.
